Don’t miss out on the opportunity to bring your dog to camp this summer! Don’t have a dog?  Register for a spot to use one of the dogs we will provide.  Our 2023 Junior Dog Trainer camp will take place at the North Leaside site – 125 Brentcliffe Road for select weeks. Camp will have two options this year:  BRING YOUR DOG TO CAMP which will provide you with the chance to bring your dog to camp with you with a shorter camp day that will run from 9am – 3:30pm only as this is a long day for your dog to attend camp.

OR

USE A DOG PROVIDED BY PAWSITIVELY PETS

This program will be based out of our Leaside location and campers will take part in two training sessions a day at Kyon Dog Daycare at Sutherland & Eglinton where campers will work with the dogs for two training sessions. One session focusing on basic obedience and one session on tricks.  All dogs are pre-assessed for safety to work with children.  Campers will walk with Pawsitively Pets staff to the training location each day (approximately 2 blocks.)   Campers will work 2 campers per dog for this program. Camp day is 9am – 4pm – Open drop-off between 8:30am – 9am/Open pick-up 4pm – 4:30pm)

All campers must be 10 years old or older as of December 31, 2023, to register for this program.

All dogs coming to camp must be good with other dogs, be fully vaccinated, including distemper combination vaccine, rabies, bordetella, dogs must be 18 weeks or older, crate trained and you must be able to bring a crate to camp each day. All dogs attending camp must be a size that is reasonable for your camper to manage independently.  All dogs must wear their City of Toronto license and their rabies tag on their collars each day.

Each day our campers will work with their dogs on basic obedience, leash walking and tricks training.  While dogs are resting between sessions in their crates, campers will work on the concept of positive reinforcement training and enrichment activities for their dogs and have the chance to interact with the Pawsitively Pets animals.  All campers will bring their own nut-free packed lunch, 2 snacks and water bottle to camp.
