Campers 10-12 years old – Leaside location only
Each day is spent hands on caring for the on-site camp animals, providing them with care, socialization, learning to prepare their food and feed them and conduct daily health exams.
The Pawsitively Pets Animal Care Camp is a highly-specialized program that accepts approximately 15-20 campers per week. Children taking part in this program will learn all the key fundamentals of animal care and what it would be like to work in the animal care field one day.
This program has all the hands-on components of caring for animals, feeding, grooming, cage cleaning and food prep as well as two great animal related field trips over the one week session. All short weeks only participate in one off-site field trip.
This program is available at our Leaside location only as this is our main office and the home of our animals. The Animal Care program will allow children to be in charge of caring for the on-site animals as well as work hands on with a variety of other animals focusing on their care needs and ensuring that they are happy and healthy. The program is offered in week long sessions. Select weeks at the Leaside location have by-the-day registration availability for full-day programs.
Campers will have the opportunity to take part in some unique trips that all focus around caring for animals and allows us to work with some exotic animals that cannot come to our camp location.
All participants receive a t-shirt with their registration.
Staff/Leader to camper ratio for Animal Care is 1 staff to 9 campers.
Campers must be 10 years old as of December 31 of the camp year to participate in this program.
