Winter 2025 Class Programs – Leaside & Beaches locations

Class Programs: We love sharing our love of animals with children of all ages, and we know children of all ages benefit from an interactive learning experience. You’re welcome to join us for a class at our location or ask us how you can set up a weekly class at your location.  Our class programs are offered for various age groups so animal lovers can get together in small groups to share their love of animals. All programs allow children to explore the wonderful world of animals in a hands-on animal class each week.

Toddler/Preschooler – Hands-on Animal Class – Wednesday, January 15 to Wednesday, March 5 (8 weeks) 10:30am – 11:15am– $155 + HST. Open to children 1 to 5 years old to attend with a caregiver.  A maximum of 12 children may register for this program. Each class is set up for children to attend with a caregiver the format is hands-on with the animals. Part 1 & Part 2 of the fall session will have different themes each week, sign up for both sessions or whichever one best fits your schedule.

Forest School – Outdoor Education Program: Open to children 4-8 years old.  Tuesday, January 14 to Tuesday, March 4 (8 weeks) 9am – 2:30pm –– $445.00

Forest School – Outdoor Education Program: Open to children 4-8 years old.  Wednesday, January 15 to Wednesday, March 5 (8 weeks) 9am – 2:30pm –– $445.00

Forest School – Outdoor Education Program: Open to children 4-8 years old.  Thursday, January 16 to Thursday, March 6 (8 weeks) 9am – 2:30pm –– $445.00

8-week extended care PM:  Latest pick-up 5pm – $125 per term per selected date.

*Covered in the enrollment fees—The group will work with our on-staff psychologist/social worker 4 times during an 8-week session on self-regulation, working through big feelings, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Up to $170 of the registration fee can be claimed back through extended health care benefits with coverage. 

Winter Term 2025 FOREST & NATURE Caregiver & Tot Program FALL 2024   

Caregiver & Tot Program – Outdoor Education Program: Open to children 18 months to 4 years old to attend with a caregiver. Monday, January 13 to Monday, March 3 (8 weeks – No class Monday, February 18 – Family Day) 9:30am – 11:30am – $195.00 + HST   

Help your children grow their natural curiosity and imagination. Each week, with your little one, we will explore the wonders of the forest and nature. Children will have a chance to learn through experience and grow their love of nature and the outdoors.

Weekend Forest School – Outdoor Education ProgramOpen to children 4-10 years old.  Program runs weekly on Saturday’s – NEXT PROGRAM SPRING 2025  

This is a drop-off program for children to attend independently. Our outdoor educators will take the group out in the forest of Sunnybrook Park and Serena Gundy to explore and learn all about nature and the living world. The program’s focus is to allow the group to lead through an inquiry-based approach and create a fun environment to work together. Children will have the chance to learn through shelter building, animal tracking, pond/stream exploration, nature crafts and sharing experiences and stories.

Tween Time – Animal Time – this program will meet monthly. Program registration is available at our 94 Laird Drive location and 2298 Queen Street East location in the Beaches.

94 Laird Drive location – Tween Time – Monthly Animal Time:  Friday, January 10, Friday, February 7, Friday, March 7 and Friday, April 4 – 7pm – 8:30pm – $100 + HST

Drop-off program. Open to children 10-13 years old to work with the animals hands-on, food prep, creating enrichment toys, grooming, bathing and having fun with the animals in a social environment to allow participants to explore their love of animals and connect with like-minded peers. 2298 Queen Street East – Beaches – Tween Time – Monthly Animal Time:  Friday, January 24, Friday February 21, Friday, March 28 and Friday, April 25 – 7pm – 8:30pm – $100 + HST

94 Laird Drive – Learn to Volunteer with the Animals:

Animal Attendant Program: Learn to volunteer with the animals – Wednesday, January 8,  to Wednesday, March 5 (9-week program)  4:30pm – 6pm – children 10 -14 years old (must already be 10.) This program will teach participants all the skills to volunteer with the animals in the future, including cage cleaning, feeding, grooming, bathing and basic handling. $250 + HST

Drop-off program open to children 10-14  years old.
