Is your child interested in learning to volunteer with the animals at Pawsitively Pets? Our weekend Animal Attendant – the learn-to-volunteer program offers children 10 years or older the opportunity to participate in a weekly program to learn to work with the animals and eventually volunteer.
This program will teach participants to clean cages, feed the animals, and learn to safely handle some of our furry friends and small lizards who live with us.
Once participants have completed this program and passed the basic safe handling assessment, they will be offered opportunities to come in for volunteer shifts on weekends in the fall/winter/spring seasons to help take care of the animals.
WINTER 2024 PROGRAM: Participants 11 years (already 11) and older can register.
Animal Attendant Program: Learn to volunteer with the animals – Tuesday, January 16, to Tuesday, March 5 (8 week program) – 4:30pm – 6pm – children 11-14 years old (must already be 11 years old.) This program will teach participants all the skills to volunteer with the animals in the future, including cage cleaning, feeding, grooming, bathing and basic handling. $200 + HST
